And just who are the mysterious men appearing and disappearing in the forest?I really enjoyed this book. The mysteries are multiple and complex, the suspense tense, the romance between Laura and Mack, the neighbor, hot. But in my opinion the heart of this book is the relationship between Laura and her mother. The longer they are in contact with each other, the more of their past is peeled away and the more they each have to come to terms with the regrets and dreams of what has been. When we finally discover what happened between Laura's mother, father and a friend who vanished 30 years ago, we understand how those decisions impacted all of their lives.
